need advice??
I am about to order some long tube headers I was thinking SLP w/off road X-Pipe,and LM catback, also a diablo programmer. someone was say I should upgrade throttle boby to the cobra throtle body and inlet. Should I do this?? do you guys thiink this would be a good combo to get?? Please let me know what you think of the set up? thanks
Errrmmm, what exactly do you have? If you've got a mach, the SLP's are good, so are JBA, Kooks and MAC LT's. I've got the SLP ceramics, and I love them, the only thing is the SLP's do hang pretty low so you'll have to be careful if you've got any suspension work planned in the future. Don't want to bean your headers on the pavement everytime you hit a bump. [:@] Second consideration would be, does your state have emissions laws? I'm not expert on O/R H and X pipes, but I was under the impression that a lot of these were NOT emissions legal, depending on the state you're in. That's why I went with the hi-flo cat'd H from SLP. Depends on how much money is an issue for you, but you might also want to check out StainlessWerks too, they make damn good headers for the 99-04 stangs and Cobras. You COULD upgrade the throttle body, but if you've got a mach, the stocker throttle body is pretty damn good as is, so that might be just a waste of cash until you really NEED to change it out. I'd go with an intake spacer and a K&N drop-in filter first. Do that and get a good tune flashed into your Diablosport and that'd sound good to me. Though that's just personal preference on my part brudda. It's all in what you want..
I have a 03 mach1 and I think I am going with the MAC longtubes and off-road X-Pipe,Loudmouth1 catback,Diablo,JLT cold air, and i have a spacer now just not put on yet waiting to put other bolt-ons first. How or where do I get diablo flashed. it just in stalls like the hyper-tech right?? Can you guys think of something else?
I don't have any advice on the LT's, but as far as the programmer goes, I got my SCT X3 at a local shop. I waited until I installed the JLT RAI and exhaust and then went and got it programmed so it could take into effect the extra air and loss of the cats. I saw a boost in HP, TQ and fuel economy.
Well, there's a couple of different ways to do that. You could get a mail order tune from the manfucturer, but to be honest, even though it's a little more money-wise, the best way is to have a shop tune the car, and load the tune filies onto the hand held at the shop. That way you KNOW you're getting a good tune brudda..

Let's say Anywhere, USAReputable Speed Shop, Inc charges $110 per hour dyno and tune time. You bring them you modded car and they put it on the dyno and tune it, they'll have it to a gnat's eyebrow within that hour and it will be BY FAR the BEST money you'll ever spend on your car. Far and away...
ditto on everyone else's advice..just wanted to say that the LM2s will sound a little better if you go with the offroad midpipe. The LM1s are VERY raspy w/o cats, from personal experience.
I used to have a 98' Trans Am with heads, cam,LTs,off road Y-pipe,and lm1, and man your talking about loud..wow that thing could be heard for miles..I guess I just am hoping for that soud again.I want to thank eveyone here for your advice you guys are a great help...
