yeah i think it's about 2300, well, you could do it, but i reccommend a shop do it...now mpg killer are 4.56's but 4.10's you'll love!
Oh yeah... no way in HELL would I even think about installing gears lol. Other than the highway driving I'll be doing to and from school, I don't think they'll be too bad. I just dont want to feel like I should have to shift into a 6th gear, only to find out I have no 6th gear [8D]. I think I'm going to do it.

The "not knowing the unknown" is killing me haha. I don't see a reason why I should NOT do gears. I'm just a paranoid fother mucker.

what kind of thought are you having abuot it?
if you keep you foot out of the gas aside from racing, your not going to see much of a MPG change
Ive done my share of research over the past couple of months and it seems those with 4.10's really have no change in MPG. It just seems like one of those modifications that takes a real commitment to, unlike exhaust or something where you can just simply spend a couple of hours swapping back if you don't like what you have. I just want to make sure I will not be making a mistake! And the website that had the gear calculator isn't working but I think I remember seeing the RPM @ 70 mph is something like 2300? That's not too bad for when school starts and I'll have to drive 20 miles to school and 20 miles back everyday, sometimes twice a day.
How long is the time period between these 2 classes? I have a 2.5hr break twice a week for college last semester and used the time not driving the 20 mile round trip but studying/doing hw in my car, getting something to eat nearby, and worse comes to worse just taking a nap in my car. Just a few tips to save you from wasting gas if the break between classes isn't like 5hrs. As you can see, I use my break to get **** done for college and not just mellowing out completely on spontaneous stuff.

And if you have the money, get the 4.10's. MPG won't change in the city and highway you will see little to no loss in mpg. Like others said, your only problem would be traction now (which reminds me to get some better tires over the damn stock goodyears which suck in the rain).

It's only 1 day a week. My class ends at 2:50 and then my next class starts at 7pm [:'(]

i ran a car that had 4.10's, and my 3.55's beat it
When I first got my 4:10's my times got slower, this was due to **** poor tires, after getting better tires (DR's at the track) I dropped my ET by almost 4 tenths.
I have had my 4:10's for about 1.5 years now, and still love them as much as the day I got them, My gas mileage did not change to much.

But I would recomend having them installed by someone who knows what they are doing and have the correct tools. It does not matter if you have the best gears and bearings, a sloppy install will ruin the outcome.

My Mach is an A4, the best time I got on the stock tires (Skaterbacks hehe) was a 13.77, after the the 4:10's still on the stock tires my times were 13.9 14.1 ish, spinning out of the hole and everytime i hit second I would spin. With DR's 13.42, which isnt bad for aN A4
