Default Looking for Chip Advice

I have a custom magnaflow exhaust with a CAI. I was looking around at different chips and upgrades with the computer. Can anyone give any advice on what chips are good? HP gains? where to buy? stuff like that thanks

you should get a lot more mods before bothering with a tune

I agree. A tune never hurts anything, but I too would wait before you have some more mods to work with to make better use of the tune. I'll probably be getting one soon, but I still have a few more mods left to go before I worry about it too much.

You can still see some gains with a good tune...but find a local dyno-tuner rather than mail-order (you'll see more gains) and some dyno-tuners will re-tune for free after you add more mods. Not sure where in NJ you are, but there are some out on Long Island.

You're going to end up needing a hand-held tuning device and a tune someday, so it wouldn't hurt to pick one up now. Besides, a good tune on even a stock car will wake it up a bit.

I recommend an X-Cal tuner from SCT. I have used both a Diablosport Predator and an SCT X-Cal 2, and I'm much happier with the SCT unit.

I've had the best results from good dyno tunes as opposed to mail order tuning (RWTD, Amazon Tuning, Etc...). I tried doing the mail order route only to find that going to a knowledgeable tuner on a good dyno yields the best results. Ultimately it was money wasted trying to go the mail order tuning route.

Bob Kurgan (www.kurganmotorsports.com) has tuned my car both when it was naturally aspirated and now Vortech supercharged, and he is very good at what he does. The car runs awesome with his tunes.
