throw out bearing

Default throw out bearing

ok so my throwout bearing was making some noise and i swapped it out a week ago now this bearing is starting to make noise =/ have no idea what to do to stop the noise...n e help?

Time for "The Secret Sauce" Lucas Tanny Fix and Mobil 1 Tranny Oil... I had the exact same problem dude! They tell me it's an inherant problem with these trannies.. The Sauce quiets it alright but it still rattles a bit. Good Luck

yea i put the sauce in when i changed the bearing...**** pissed me off though....went to all that trouble to switch it out and still got the noise =/ but ohh well i guess its inevitable

Throw out bearings inherently make a little noise. Just look at how they sit in there.

Ford "solved" the problem by putting just a little bit of pressure on the bearing. Not enough to load the bearing, jsut enough to keep it quiet. That's accomplished by the auto adjusting feature of the stock quadrant. Maybe yours is not working properly. Or, if you've changed to an adjustable cable, you need to tighten it a little more.

Differant oil and additives will not change a TO bearing noise.
