Posted this question on Diablo's site forum and got no reply. Have been told that, for a nominal fee, if I tell them the model of my stang (2004 Mustang Mach 1) and the mods I have (JLT rai, o/r H, Flows) they will email me a tune specific to my car's set-up. Anybody done this (or know someone who has)? Worth the loot? As always, thx.
I have myself a custom tune from Diablo and seen a few others who have gotten them and they where free. What I did was to ask one of the techs about the newer crom 9r05. Telling him I was interested in the newer tune but was hesitant because if I did not like it I have seen some posts of people having problems reverting back to 7r50d after updating. I also asked about the updated tune and any differences. He asked me for my mods, cal id and to send him my last tune written. His reply was the tune I was using is very aggressive and he did not think that the tune would make any more power but there where improvements and asked me to try it a tell me what I thought. He made me a custom tune similar to the newer tune and the bonus out of this is I could still use with my older predator and keeping all my functions in my OBD II menu. After data logging this custom tune at WOT my timing is between 25 - 21.5 in 4th gear from 2k - 5k which is pretty much in the ballpark with 94 octane.
your already there rygi...just driving time is all you need...i wish i could cut a 1.98 60', but i don't drive enough at the track
High 12s with streets are possible with the couple mods I have. Just takes good conditions and an ideal run. I'll get it tho. The tune will kind of put it in concrete tho.

I had the predator but ended up switching to the sct livewire because no one in my area did diablo custom tuning. I took it to a dyno, spent 150 dollars and got no real results at all (with basically the same mods as you). Diablo sux donkey butt and sour yogurt but with the sct I was able to do more (like change my injector size when I put my SC on).

That's what I'm talking about. Maybe it depends on the area one lives in. I live in MD, and it seems every flyer I pick up or web site ad on shops with dynos have a big ole SCT logo on it. The Diablo tune itself is supposed to add 10 hp, I didn't feel a thing. And I'm not going to pay $ for someone to adjust the WOT, spark advance, etc., I can do that myself. From what everything I've read, it just seems like the SCT has a wider tuning range. Diablo does have a mac daddy tuner coming out now to compete with the live wire, but I'm still sceptical as the majority of shops are more familiar with SCT. The adjustments on the Diablo are nice, but I think eventually I'll get a top-of-the-line SCT.
Yeah, I was thinking something around there. Someday she'll have more mods
Was thinking high 270s stock + 15 for the cai and cb. Know what you mean with future mods, don't forget though we're sitting fairly pretty with power from the showroom. Maybe consider some mods that help apply all that power. For instance, a Triax or MGW will cost you far less than power mods but will make your smile with the 1st shift.
