Default Diablo "Custom" Tune......How?

Posted this question on Diablo's site forum and got no reply. Have been told that, for a nominal fee, if I tell them the model of my stang (2004 Mustang Mach 1) and the mods I have (JLT rai, o/r H, Flows) they will email me a tune specific to my car's set-up. Anybody done this (or know someone who has)? Worth the loot? As always, thx.

Don't waste your time on a canned/mail order tune. Just spend the extra money and do it rite by getting a dyno tune.

I am with him rygi. No sense in ordering a $60 tune that will get you 15-20 hp, when you can ge tit dyno tuned for 100 and put 30-40hp more out of it

*this is just an example

Your always full of good free advice. 30 peak hp is worth it. Just want my Mach to run healthy. From ads I've seen, dyno shops give the car a few pulls and charge a few hundred. Can they get a thorough tune in a few runs? Not trying to write a book, haven't done it or known anyone personally whose had it done. Thx a bunch.

Instead of starting a new thread I'll ask this as well. Seems like every shop uses SCT. Will shops that typically use SCT use my Predator?

thats a good question on the tuner, the shops here use diablo...you could take a road trip

30 peak is nice, but wouldn't it be much nicer to have a 15 peak increase but 30 in the entire curve. down here the two that tune will let you do your own tuning for 60/hr - 100/hr depending on the shop, but i would assume that with about $200 they could have it dialed in perfect for you IMO they should, i mean they do it all day every day right lol

Gas $ to AL would make that one expensive tune! I guess you're right, they do it for a living. Another question for ya when you got the time....do they only use what's in the tuner (spark advance, fuel WOT, etc.) to tune the vehicle? 30 hp sounds like alot for the minor adjustments in the Predator. Thx again, and again. Good thread going here, for me anyhow.

Any good tuner that knows what they're doing will have you pretty well dialed in after 3 runs. Most guys will continue until they get you right. Their name is on the line after all. 30-40 hp gain is pretty optimistic IMO. Expect -20rwhp from the few mods you've got, but like Rebel said, you will pick up HP/Tq across the entire curve and you're car will feel like it just shed about 300lbs. Well worth every penny. I've had two cars dyno tuned and was more than pleased every time.

Thanks Stone. You guys are steering me in the right direction. I'm going to find the best tune shop around instead of adding more hardware. That'll put me where I want to be anyhow, 12s on street radials!
