Getting intake
What would u guys recommend on getting an intake, but keeping the functionality of the Ram air.
would also like to know a good cold air intake if i change my mind for better performance.

I would just do a drop in filter and a intake spacer. You're already getting plenty of cold air in there. If you're just trying to get better air flow, the C&L Intakes look pretty nice. A few guys around here have them and seem to like them. They look a lot better than the plastic ones too, imo.
Quick question Grif, did that tuner help your car out a lot, like noticeably? I've been hearing they really wake up an automatic Mach.

The tuner really helped out on the automatic, b4 i got the tuner in i ran 13.6 at 105.3, and now i run 13.42 at 106.9 ( with crappy stock tires on, spin like hell). The tuner works so well cause u can adjust alot of things on the automatic.
my friends are telling me that there is an intake system where i can keep the ram air functionality but get better performance out of it, just wondering what it is.
Also im looking for better tires than the stock tires i have on now, u know a good brand?

There are a few intakes that keep the Ram Air functional. Go to AmericanMuscle.com, and check theirs out. They have a cheaper JLT CAI thats pretty good, as well as a KN system. Then there's the C&L deal too.
Thanks for the tuner info. Sounds good, two tenths is an excellent gain. I think I'll definetely be getting one asap.
Tires. I have Nitto 555 street radials. I have pulled a best of 1.97 60' with them, and it was about 32 degrees out with very few cars on the track to keep it warm. They really do hook good for a street tire. I've experimented with quite a few brands, and I gotta say these are the best so far at hooking. You can always go with a drag radial too. DRs are all pretty good, some just last longer than others. Nitto DRs last the longest supposedly.

It would be a toss up between the KN or the C&L. The C&L looks better, but its made out of cast metal, so it will hold more heat. Although, some claim it really makes no difference since the air moves thru it so quickly, the pipe temp has no effect on the incoming air temp. The KN is a one piece plastic unit and cools off quickly, and is very lightweight. I don't like the JLT because of the way it is pieced together. It just doesn't look like it would flow any better than stock to me. Its made out of PVC pipe and rubber couplings. Anyway, I would probably flip a coin between the KN or C&L.

o true thx, most people said they get jlt ram air or C&L. But they both add some power to the engine though, but how much? Still got to save some money, then im going to get my car dyno tuned after i choose an intake, hopefully reach close to 300 hp lol

I've heard us Machs don't respond as well to CAIs as the GTs do, but hey, every little bit counts. I'd say 4-5 hp would be about right as far as gains go. A little more once you get it tuned of course. Check out the intake spacer too, they only run about 100 bucks and add something around 11 lbs of torque across the curve.
