I'm not saying 6K is the best spot for every gear. This was my 1st trip to the track w/ 4.10s so just experimenting really. With a steeper gear the requirement of power to turn it decreases...a good reason why dyno pulls are done in 4th gear instead of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Shifted into 4th @ 6K was just past 1/8 mi.

Today in the morning, on my way home, I took the car up to 80mph to see at what RPM it would be at and it seems to be at around 2300rpm, I have 18in wheels, does this sound right?
According to this gear calculator it says I should be at around 2600rpm and thats with the wheels already measured in..

You do realize that an 18" wheel won't change your speedo unless you get the wrong size tire...
The overall tire diameter is the same, the sidewalls are just smaller to compensate for the larger wheel.

I agree on both points...feels like the car should've came with them in the first place and 4.30s being a typical mod. The exhaust note is sweeter too, my LM1s sound a bit nastier at cruising. 4.30s may be a tenth better at the track with sticky tires, but I think 4.10s are the better gear for daily drivers. To each his own, ofcourse.
