4.10s @ the track
Shouldn't have gone with my 3rd and 4th synchros shot to hell but I had the gears recently installed and couldn't help it. I left kind of disappointed. Ran a 13.38. A tad slower than my bonestock best run. With my street tires I left the line like I've always done-around 3K and rolled the clutch and left pretty well. It seemed like with the steeper gear I needed to shift a little sooner @ 6K, which yielded the quickest run. Guess I'm just looking for suggestions because I thought a 12.99 was in the realm of possibility seeing that 13.2s were my stock times.
With your times I think its totally possible. So you're saying that 6k rpms seems to be the best spot for every gear? Let me ask you, with 4.10s, do you shift early into 4th? Or do you shift almost at the end of the run.
I couldn't quite break into the 12s with 4.10s either. The capability was always there as far as the car goes, but between the driver and the tires, I just couldn't quite pull it off. DRs are a must with 4.10s.
you should be able to get 12s and i know what you mean about shifting at 6k i do the same thing with my 4.10s i havent had a chance to hit up the 1/4 with the gears yet but should be going within the next month and am hoping for 12s as well. i got a best in the 1/8th of 8.29 so i think i should def be able to get it

I'm not saying 6K is the best spot for every gear. This was my 1st trip to the track w/ 4.10s so just experimenting really. With a steeper gear the requirement of power to turn it decreases...a good reason why dyno pulls are done in 4th gear instead of 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Shifted into 4th @ 6K was just past 1/8 mi.
you do realize power drops off after 5,800 rpm since thats where our peak power is.. right? so shifting at 6k with 4.10's does seem like a good idea because it would keep you in the power band. its nice that our cars rev to 7 but its useless until you get a better set of cams that actually make power after 6.
