Default Solid MPG #s w/ 4.10s

Was expecting 20mpg from home to work. Not in town but not hwy driving either. Shifted early and cruised at 60-65 but still dropped the hammer a few times. 23.7mpg. Probably will get 25-26 hwy if kept @ 70. Needless to say, I'm impressed as hell.

When I first got them, my gas mileage went up big time. Now it has kind of leveled off back to normal. I was able to manage 300 to tank once, I've only done that one other time. Now, when I'm doing mostly highway driving I get about 250-270 MPG and with mostly city driving I get around 240-?.

I think I need a tune though. In fact, now that I have some money back from taxes, I may give that a shot. Seems like she could drive a LOT better than she is now.

I'm sure the tune will help. But I'll tell ya, from what I'm experiencing it's all about using the low rpm torque and shifting early. I'm shifting into 4th @ 25 and 5th @ 35. The car doesn't bog at all, lower engine wear, and it makes up mpg you lose when you drop the hammer...quite often if your like me. Hey, where'd that bad **** chick in your sig go? Man, she was bangin. I'd often check the threads just so I could see her. Kidding...........Oh snap, you're in Richmond right? Where's a good place down there for a tune???? Thx.

WTF I didn't even know she disappeared! FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Anywho, damn you shift that early? Maybe I need to start doing that. I'm usually shifting into 4th @ 35. How high do you let the RPM go when shifting from 1st and 2nd?

Also, there's a nice shop about 15 minutes from me called Performance Autosport. They always have tons of goodies sitting in the parking lot. That's really the only one I can think of in the Richmond area. There's Excessive Motorsport in Manassas and Springfield Motorsport in Lorton.

I shift that early in traffic to save gas. We seem to forget about our car's power at the low range. W/ 4.10s we can start in 2nd so I'm using 1st just to get the car rolling to like 5 mph. Thx for the info. on the shops. My next step will be to see which one likes to use Diablo.

I usually shift anywhere between 1800-2200 because it just seems hard to shift smoothly when going any lower than that. I still get good gas mileage though. Right now I'm at about 265-270 or so, and I still have maybe an 8th of a tank left.

it's all in how you drive the cars to get the mileage or not get it HEHE
