Well I'd like to start off by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, hope everyone had a good one. today while getting off of the freeway, I tried to pull it out of 5th gear and it did not want to come out. I pushed it back and it came out but still stuck a little. after i turned off of the ramp. i got it back into 5th again, this time it had a low whine to it. ok i thought, tried to pull it out again and stuck once more. Then i put it back in with ease. thinking it may be a clutch release problem, i pulled up on the pedal adjusting the clutch several times and tried once more. each time i put it back into 5th gear it whined louder, the very last time i pulled it out of 5th it then started whinning in every gear. i felt around the tranny hump of the floor even felt the shifting rod and stick, it was cold instead of warm as if the tranny were run dry of fluid. (my first thought)

so now my transmission whines in all gears and i recently figured out it will not go into reverse. I have yet to pull the transmission out, thats my job for tomorrow.

The Plan is to just do a T-56 swap, i know i will need a new cross member, will i need a new driveshaft? If so, thats fine, i will just buy the aluminum one. Is there a big difference between the 26 spline and 10 spline input shaft? since i will be taking out the tranny it is a good time to change the clutch and buy a lightweight flywheel.

If anyone had done this swap before please let me know and give me any sugguestions or your thoughts.
