Went to the 1/8th mile track
Went to the local 1/8th mile track, had absolutly no traction, freaking spinning in 3rd. my best time was a 9.4 at 79.9 with a 2.0 60ft. everytime i'd hit 2nd gear she would get sideways. Beat a built nova though lol what should i be running? all i have is JLT ram air and a borla catback
EDIT- this was my first time ever at a track

check my sig thats what I ran and was spinning out of the hole and through 2nd as well, all I had at the time was a JLT and 40's try dropping you rear tire pressue I had mine at 20psi that seemed to help a little

Sounds to me like you're in desperate need of some better tires. You shouldn't be spinning 3rd. I don't even spin 3rd with my 4.10s, just a chirp. I'm using BFG KDWs and they do really well. They're on sale at TireRack for $88 right now. Good tires.
Your 60' was good enough for a 8.5-8.6 run, but if you were spinning 2nd and 3rd, thats all it takes to throw off your ET.

Yes, that decent for your first time. My first time I ran 9.6, then with just practice on the 2nd visit to the track I was down to a 9.1. I feel you with the spinning in 3rd, happens to me to. My last 2 visits before going with the Eaton, with bolt ons, tune and gears, I was going sideways in 2nd and having to let off to hook then getting back on it and spinning in 3rd, it was still running consistant 8.7s but on a decently prepped track I should've been able to pull and 8.4 if not lower.

oh wow, alright thanks guys, yea i have freakin 245 all seasons out back so i may order some nittos here soon. I kept trying to get behind some of the faster drag cars so i could get in their rubber but it didnt work lol.
Would slicks be to much for my car? a guy told my friend he had a lightly used set that he would give us for free, now obviously i couldnt go out there and drop the clutch with stock clutch and rear end,but would they help me any?

That track must not be prepped good. Spinning 2nd and 3rd gear!? A Mach should run 8.5's to 8.9's. Lower the tire pressure a bit and see if that helps. Also don't powershift and see if that helps with traction.
