Default Loud noise from motor... Any Ideas???

Ok, so my twin brother that shares the account has an 04' mach 1 5 spd. Well, the car had been making a tick that sounded like the rattle of a spray paint can between 1.9-2k rpm's but the car ran great. All of a sudden I hear a loud noise more of a tick than a knock from the top of the motor, it's hard to pin point which head it sounds like it's from the back and in the middle of the motor. It makes the noise through all rpm's. Any idea what the issue could be or how much it would cost to get something like this fixed?? I will have to bring it to a shop for him since he got hurt in Iraq, the ****ty part is that I was just driving it so that it doesn't sit, he was planning on selling it and buying an 11' when he gets home so he doesn't want to put a ton into it.

Also, if for some reason I would need a rebuild anyone have an idea what that would cost? Or just not worth it if I'm selling?

LOUD NOISES

on a serious note, sounds like your bro might have a problem with one of the heads. From what I've heard its pretty common for the Mach 1 to have a head tick. Not enough cooling on the head or something like that. If your on a budget I would not recommend rebuilding a 4v, it will put a serious dent in your wallet.

I had heard about the head tick which people said does not hurt the car, but this is very loud, loud enough I don't feel comfortable driving it at all. Also, does the head issue require an entire engine rebuild? Or can I have the head fixed?

Odd thing is, it looks like the tensioner pulley wobbled a lot while the car is running and as it moves it seems to move with the click, I was thinking maybe it just sounds like its from the back of the motor because of the echo off of the engine bay. Anyone know if mach's have any pulley issues?
