Default Looking at purchasing a Mach 1

Hi every one. Im new to the site but have owned mustangs before. I was originally looking at buying an 05+ gt, but I drove a mach 1 and fell in love. Im looking at a blue 2004 mach 1 with 50k on it. The dealer is asking 17k Is that too much? Whats a reasonable offer for me to make? Thanks. Also any problems I should look out for?

I paid 15500 for mine at 42k miles all stock. Make him go lower. The Mach's really dont have any problems... They do develop a head tick that is nothing to worry about and the rearend sometimes humms but neither of these two are serious.

In general, the Mach's are pretty good cars with no major issues. If it's a stick, look for a lockout going into 3rd at higher rpms. The 3650 transmission has had problems with this and there are TSB's out on it.

Also, make sure it doesn't have underdrive pulleys on it. Mach 1 motors and UD pulleys don't seem to go together well, and more than a few with pulleys had had engine problems.

Price does seem a little high for the mileage.

I paid 13.5 for mine with 24k miles on it from a wholesaler. I'd keep looking. Don't go over 15k for one IMO (unless it has never been titled, etc).

15k isn't bad... can you get them to do 15k out the door? Tell them you will sign the papers right now for 15k with tax, tags, doc fees included. I guarantee you they will jump on it.
