Default Shifter/shifting question

hey everyone, so i've been to the track twice so far. Both not great experiences... the first time, i could not get into 2nd gear at all. so i had my clutch adjusted and returned to the strip for a little revenge. the second time, i had to 'force' the shifter into second which cost me some time. my best run was a 14.4 at 95. since then i bought a steeda double hook quadrant, installed it, and then had the clutch re-adjusted. i plan to go back to the strip tomorrow. the gears have never grinded so i dont think its a synchronizer. should the new quadrant and adjustment be enough, am i shifting at too many rpms? im shifting around 6000. please excuse my ignorance because im new to drag racing. any ideas? thanks!

im only really having problems at the strip. normal everyday street driving the shifting is fine. 2nd gear is my main problem, 3rd is a little blocky. only at high rpms does the shifting get difficult.

I have a short throw in mine and it goes in like butter at the track. Shifting at 6400 or 6500 rpm.
