Default DIY: Remove your hood stripe

Im sure some of you have looked at your hood stripe at one time or another and just wanted to rip out since after 6 years of existence is likely either peeling, bubbling, fading or all of the above but you're afraid of hurting the paint or making a mess. So I decided to give you guys a small procedure to help you through it.

1) Get a buddy and maybe a couple beers.
2) Warm up the stripe using a blowdryer.
3) Use your nail to pull a corner of the stripe and begin pulling slowly while your buddy uses the blowdryer on the area being pulled.
4) Once step 3 is completed, add some mineral spirit to a piece of cloth or soft rag and begin working the area where the stripe was until its not sticky anymore and its completely clean.
5) Wash surface thoroughly with soap and water.
6) Buff the area with your favorite wax.

Here's a picture after the hood is cleaned but not yet waxed...

Its not harsh at all, like I said just clean the area afterwards with soap and water and you'll be fine. Mineral Spirit is widly used in the aviation industry to clean parts.
