By local builder said he can do the 4.10 ford gears parts and labor for $500. He said he can do the x-pype parts and labor for $200. I am going to buy the exhaust online and he said he will charge one hour labor to install that as well, and I am going to install the spacer myself.

I didnt ask him about springs, are they usually expensive to install?
You could do your own exhaust work. There's alot of threads, ppl willing to direct you so you yourself can feel the accomplishment plus it'd save ya 200bucks (put it towards more parts). As for the gears and the going price of 500. Thats a fair price, in MN the going rate is about 400ish and thats without the gears. Although I know it varies from location to location.

With the x-pype the part and labor is only $200, I dont know what brand he uses but I dont think I can beat that price. I was thinking about installing the exhaust myself, but I dont know if it is worth the headache. Im used to working on b-body chevys with lots of room. Im still trying to find out where to put the jack on the mustang without breaking something, lol.

Probably one you'll be removing in less than a year due to rusting and leaks.

agreed... you'd be better off keeping what you got now. You should look into a mid pipe thats stainless steel at least.

yea, I got to talk to him about the brand. The shop is revolution performance and they come highly recommended, plus they do work on my jobs race car, so I dont think he would steer me wrong with the x-pype, plus im going catless.

Yea those are great guys, they did my 4.10s to 3.55s swap. As far as the mid pipe, I dont think they'll steer you in the wrong direction but you must know that you can't expect much for $200 including part and labor. My prochamber is not catted.

If anyone is looking for magnaflow exhaust, I just got mine yesterday in the mail. I got it from a seller on ebay for $424 with free shipping. The exhaust is new, packaged good, and was shipped very fast. Search is user name, worldwideperformance, if you are interested. I went with the chambered exhaust after listening for hours to different setups. I like the aggressive straight-through mufflers but I think as time went on it I would get sick of it.
