Congrats Grim!

Most of the factory mufflers seem to have a bit of discoloration around the welds. That one appears to be on the upper end of the range though.

Hey Paul,

I'm tossing in those speakers Friday if all goes to plan, do these replace the door speakers, or the shaker 500 "subs" in the bottom of the door?

Can't quite remember...

Based on looks I would say door.

Correct, they replace the upper door speakers. If you want to avoid splicing wires, you can pick up an adapter pigtail at Best Buy to clip into the factory speaker harness (probably wouldn't be on display, ask, they generally keep them in the install area)

These are the sort of adapters I'm talking about:
Amazon Amazon

I'm pretty good with a soldering gun, so I'll just do that.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Me too, but not everyone is, so I figured worth at least mentioning.

It's a pretty easy install. Maybe 15 min per door.

Awesome. I think this will be a gateway though.

First door speakers, then I'll replace the door subs, then I'll replace the head unit.

oy!

Well I finally made it back up to Pete's 3 months later(Hard to get time off from work and having pay line up with it) Anywho, long story short. My new numbers are 404rwhp/360rwtq @ 6.5psi :-) Not too bad, Now I'm at am impasse. If I scrap the Vortech and go with the DOB kit I'll gain about 50rwhp, but I'll probably have alot of down time without boost and I don't want to go back to 280rwhp >:-) So I'm thinking I'm just going to keep the Vortech, pulley it down and grab an aftercooler and should hopefully be in the 460rwhp range, and then I start the tranny and engine afterwards.

Let us know how they are.

My alter ego (WRX/STi) knows that whiteline is big in that world, so I'm curious how their products are for domestics.
