Mass Chit-Chat
Grim, thanks for the tip on the speakers and Crutchfield adapters. I bought the same ones you did and they just arrived today! I'll install them tomorrow or Friday before I go to work.
Also, my car reached a milestone: The time when the odometer reads "8008.5." Type it into a calculator and pretend you're an immature middle schooler if you aren't sure of the significance.

Hahahaha, that made me laugh pretty hard.
Good luck with the door speaker install - that first time pulling the door cover off was a bear. The two angled catches at the bottom of the door which you need to pull up to get out did NOT want to disconnect for me. I really had to put some muscle into it before they popped out. The second time around they were a breeze, though. They must have been wildly snug from the factory.
That said, even though I like the bass the Pioneers added, I'm already looking at powered subwoofers. Nothing too crazy, but something to just round out those real low notes. I've never installed a subwoofer before, so it'll be an adventure trying to run wire from the trunk to the stock headunit, and then through the firewall to the battery.
Gotta learn somehow, right?

Also, in case anyone is interested, I just bought a set of these to use as winter wheels:

They're at an amazing price. I just couldn't say no to 17 inch wheels WITH the TPMS sensors in them (at least I think), for only $550. I'm sure those energy saver tires are crap, but they can be easily replaced for some Blizzaks.
If anyone else buys a set and needs to reset their TPMS sensors once they're mounted, I still have my generic Ford TPMS reset tool from my Focus. So if you don't know someone at a shop that will do it for free, I can do it for you (assuming you have a 2010+).

I cant come, but just try and follow some basic drag race edicuit.
If you're on street tires, go around the burnout box. No reason to burnout on street tires. Just screech them to clean them off, and thats about it.
Also don't have your A/C running while in the lanes waiting. Not like you would though since it'll be like 50 degrees.

Got the left front repaired yesterday. There was a screw in the tread. At least I didn't need to buy a new tire again.
Geez, you know where all the good deals are! I'll keep those in mind if I don't get a pickup before it snows. I've decided to get an old V-8 4x4 for winter beater duty and also to haul the RX-7 if/when I ever get back to work on it.
