C&L Intake came in yesterday, pretty solid piece.

Must say I dig the fact its made out of metal, and not plastic, and the filter is HUGE!

Well, large but sad update here:

I've decided against the kit, for a few reasons...

1) There are like a million extra parts I would have to get that I wasn't aware of. Although little things (Need new thermostat, tension-er, belts, etc) its just a pain in the ***.

2) There is just the worry, that after all this goes in, my engine goes boom. I know the possibility is small, but it would just ruin the fun. And all for what, 450rwhp? Boo.

3) I own the car, and have for the past year or so. That being said, I really can't justify spending the total of 4k to get the blower on, when I can go buy a 5.0 that'll make the same power with bolt ons, for not much more $$$ out the door. And I'll have a warranty, and a newer/nicer car. And an engine lubricated from the semen of angels.

That being said, I don't want to hop on the 5.0 bandwagon.

So here's my plan, keep the car the way it is for another year. No more mods (unless its really cool, like something as cool as a WOTBOX for example ), and sell off what I have already for the DOB kit.

Therefore, if anybody wants something I already bought, let me know (GT500 fuel system for example), and we can work something out.

Then, by next year, I'll sell the car and pick up a 2011+ GT500 vert. The prices are already coming down to the low 40's, so I figured I could trade my car in, and be out the door with ~30k financed, which I could swing no problem at this point.

So there it is, I just couldn't justify spending the additional $2,500 to make the kit work, and then fear it would explode. On top of that knowing i would get pennies on the dollar for the blower, and after looking at GT500 prices it just doesn't make sense.

Short list of parts I'll be getting rid of:

GT500 blower
GT500 injectors
GT500 Fuel rails
GT500 H/E
GT500 TB w/electronics

I'm going to keep the intake, as I'll just toss that on the new pony next year

HMMM I wondr if any of the parts your selling would be a upgrade to my roush setup. I will have to do some research, if so maybe I might be interested in some of your parts

Yea just let me know. I think the injectors would fit, and they are 47-52lbs/hr

Metal? Wouldnt that metal get hotter than a plastic tube and hurt performance? Hotter air

In theory, but the dyno results for the C&L are pretty good.

shiiiiiiit, with the '15s coming out, and 13&14 shelbys being the only 5.8Ls the 10-12 models will take a huge nose dive in price, not to mention the people trading in their 10-12s to get a 15...sucks to see you not doing the build anymore, but you'll enjoy a newer pony when you decide...good luck

Pretty much, thats why I figured next year is a good time to unload my 07. The 15's wont be out, so it wont take another price hit.

I was just surprised how cheap the 2011+'s have gotten, and the fact I own the car just made the decision that much easier.

the 13s(shelbys) started rolling out in april-may of 2012 i'll always remember that because the one i had ordered for a guy that more than likely wasn't gonna hit till the winter that year because two people were ahead of him...those two people cancelled and i had switched ford dealers...so one almost identical to his comes rollin in and they sell it to him for $3k over the $4k over sticker that i had him agreed on i'll never forget that ugh lol...when would you planning on making this move?

yeah, they are cheap for what they are...but i laugh when i see a 11 or even a 10 that is still priced in the $50s
