66 v6 to v8
I am in the process of swapping v6 to v8 and have found a 73 302 with tranny, is there any reason this would not work for a 66 coupe. I understand that the driveshaft, suspension, spindles, and rear must also be swapped. My thinking is it would be easier to find a engine/tranny that are already paired, but I'm relatively new to this aspect. Any input is appreciated!

The I6 to V8 swap can be done. The big question is how far do you want to take the upgrades? Motor mounts, transmission, and breaks would be a minimum to make it a safe driver. That's without making great power with the V8. I'm in the early stages of swapping a 67 over from an I6 to a 351w.

Thanks for your input. I have found a 302 engine and tranny. I plan on replacing all suspension and brakes anyway. Car was in rough mechanical situation so replacement was necessary even if it stayed an I6.Car was my grandpas and I don't ever plan on selling so numbers matching doesn't matter. Good luck with your 67.
