Default S197 5.0 swap

Hi all,
I have a 2005 gt and I’ve made up my mind to do a coyote swap in the next year. I’d like to start buying some of the components, so what all would I need? Thanks

To start with a lot of money, expertise with electronics and patience. Clearly, the engine and electrical harness with computer. Didn't say if automatic or stick. Stick would be way easier. By the time you are done you will have wished you traded up for a newer GT and modded it.

For the easiest, most cost effective method, that retains the most value when you're done, follow these steps.

Step 1: sell your 2005.

Step 2: buy a 2011+

Step 3: enjoy

This has a bunch of info and videos from a guy that did it to a s197 v6, it's a bit different than yours but most of the same components will need to be used. It looks like a lot of work and money to do it though, I looked into swapping my 94 and when you start adding up all the parts required it get very pricey very quickly. As long as you are ok with that, go for it man.

Easiest way is to find a wreck that you can pull all the parts you need - and then sell off what you don't need to recoup some cost.
