Default Seeking a solution

Evening everyone, hopefully one of you might be able to to help me resolve this problematic issue.I am doing a conversion from a 400V8 with C6 automatic transmission to a 351 C with 4 speed top-loader standard transmission.I went to mount the equalizer bar but found to my horror that that was not going to be possible due to the unfortunate location of the steering gear box. It is my understanding that the equalizer bar is mounted between the Outer Bracket (attached to frame) and the Pivot (attached to transmission) Is there a solution to this problem that allows for the equalizer bar to be mounted but does not require messing with the gear box in any way? Thank You
