Need help with a hard mustang desicion
hi,
i recently sold my mustang getting ready for college but realized the mistake and decided in a few months im going to get the newer model 05-09. i had a 97 mustang gt 5 speed it was fast and had a nice rumble, for my newer one i am trying to spend no more than 15K on the car, my hard desicion is whether i should get an 05 mustang gt 5 speed for 15K to 16K or an 05 mustang v6 convertable with a lot of features for about 12K to 14K im having a lot of trouble deciding i like the speed but hear convertables are nice. Please any input in helping me make the decision would help.

After having my GT in the shop and driving a V6 rental car I can say that if you want something fast at all get a GT. The V6 feels like the Taurus rental car I had a few months ago... I think I'd go insane if I had to keep it.

I'd look at the difference in insurance rates first. Mine was only $300 more per year for a GT but others have had a much bigger difference. Gas shouldn't be too much more either. The 4.0 V6 is an old school engine that isn't so great on gas anyway.
I test drove an 08 PP before I got my 07 GT and I didn't think it was "a rental taurus". I mean it wasn't as fast as a GT but it had some kick to it. Dual exhaust with an x or h pipe makes them sound pretty decent too.
I'd get an '06+. That way you could get the pony package (I love those fog lamps) if you get a 6 and you'll avoid any "first year" problems initial production models sometimes have.
Finally, is the GT a vert too? Because if you think you'll really like the vert but you can only find 6's, I still go for it. Of course it's hard to beat a V8 rumble but that isn't everything that makes the car.
Mytwo cents(Though more like $9.95) [8D]

I initially bought a 07' Vista Blue PP, and it was nice. But when another dealer showed me a GT they had and sais that they could finance it for me for 20 more a month I jumped on it and ill never go back to a V6. Once you put a cai and a tune on the GT it is awesome!

GT is a way better car. Stronger better faster bolder. I can see you've got better taste than that.
