Saleen's "Dark Horse Edition"

I think Saleen and Roush are starting to go overboard on these "limited edition" cars. They used to do runs of several hundred cars for each model.......then they started doing limited 100 unit runs.........now we're at the point where they're doing 25 unit runs. And each edition gets more expensive than the next. It's kind of rediculous. Before long, every car that comes off their line will be a one-off and cost 100+K. All the while, they are eroding the market value of their own product.
Used to be an S281 would hold its value decently because there weren't many aftermarket mustangs with Saleen's pedigree. Now you have the PJ302, the DG Edition, the S281, S281SC, H302, H302SC, S302E, the Sterling E, the S281 Red Flag, and all the Racecraft editions. Now we've got the Darkhorse coming. Yea, they're all unique.....but they're all Saleens. That pureblood nameplate is starting to run thin.
Don't get me wrong, it is a badass ride. But I can't say for certain that if I could afford one that I would actually buy one. I could probably build 2 or 3 badass ponies for what it would cost me to park this Saleen in my driveway. I just wish these aftermarket tuners would offer something with nice (but not over the top) upgrades that doesn't have a 20% markup on it for its "exclusivity".
