Interesting quote from the press release: "Ford has committed that almost 100 percent of its transmissions will be advanced six-speed gearboxes by 2013."
Looks like the Mustang will finally get a 6-speed. I hope Ford will still offer a manual transmission when they completely switch to "advanced" 6-speed gearboxes.
From the report it sounds like Ford is really trying to remake themselves more inline w/ foreign car companies that put a lot of good tech into relatively inexpensive cars. Seems like this could be a very good thing for them.
It could be good, as long as they are smart enought to remeber that some of us "car buyers" want to be able to shift when we want and keep a manel transmision.
