I love the 5.0 80's - early 90's badge. But part of me wants to see it redone to show the upgrade in tech. that the new car has...

1985 is when the 5.0 name started and it was conservatively rated at 210hp... the worst year for that engine i believe was 1975 when it made only 122hp..

the 5.0s beat irocs stock for stock in the quarter mile.. the new 5.0 is set to beat the biggest baddest cars from dodge and camaro stock for stock..

the only other thing i could imagine he is pissed about is he spent a lot of money on appearance and bought a tuner and can't figure out why he can't beat a 1998 LS1

Being the old fart I am and always been fond of the S-197 bullit , then this is what I want. I had my holes welded after taking off the GT. I like it clean. Your either faster with a smaller engine or big engine numbers don't mean squat. So let the car speak for itself.

I think that when you order your car you should have an option between the different re designed badges. Then every person could get what they wanted...

I've asked this question a few times before, but no one knows yet. We'll have to wait until the specs are released. Everyone just keeps assuming its a 302 like the last 5.0's.....but that may not necessarily be the case. Personally, I'm hoping for a 304 or 305...the bigger the better.

As far as badging, I'd either like to see a tribar CID badge (not likely, I know) or a new modern 5.0 badge. The GT can stay on the trunk medallion.

Why is the 5.0 such a big deal now? the 5.0 displacement has been around for a couple of years in the saleens, and it wasnt that big of deal. Is it the fact that it is a true 5.0 and not some bored out 4.6L?
