Question 1966 vs. 1991

Strugggggggggggling with a decision. Need input. Here goes. Have a 1966 Mustang with a 289 and 110k original miles. It was restored 18 years ago (about 30k miles ago) and I have owned it for the past 16 years. It sits in my garage and I run it about twice a year. The paint is incorrect but close to stock Nightmist Blue (is really off a 1987 Civic) but most people can't tell. It was involved in an accident before I bought it and the oil pan is dented up but nothing leaks and it is purely cosmetic on the pan. The body is pretty straight and the car gets lots of looks. The car is a "10 footer" and has some issues with the paint but overall it is a 7 out of 10. With a little routine repair and possible paint job it would be one helluva car. Now the dilemma. I have fallen in love with a 1991 Mustang GT with extremely low original miles. We're talking under 20k and absolutely a flawless car. My question is the worth of the Fox body and how it will appreciate in the future if I drive it only on weekends and keep it out of the weather. I am taking my 66' in for an assessment for a possible trade-in but want to make sure that I won't be making a mistake by getting rid of one for the other. The 91' has an auto tranny, sunroof etc. so it has some options but is not rare like a 93' Cobra. I'm extremely torn. The wife thinks we will enjoy the 91' much more. The 91' is listed at $12,000 which seems high but this car is basically like brand new complete with factory stickers, paperwork etc. Advice needed for this Mustang fan. (And before any of you mention keeping both cars I tried that and failed with the wife. LOL)

I wouldn't trade the 66 for that. The 91 is priced way too high, even though it doesn't have alot of miles I wouldn't pay that much. Around here you can find most fox body mustangs under 5k.

I would keep the 66, you have had the car for 18 years so you obviously like the car. Maybe put a little money in the 66 and drive it a little bit more and you will fall in love with it all over again. Just my $.02, but I am obviously a little bit biased.

If you look at it. I think the 66 will be worth ALOT more in the future that the 91 will be...but besides that the 66 is a classic! Something you can show your kids because there arnt alot of them left, where you can find a decent Fox just about every 5 min driving around (in cali that is). Good luck
