Default Possible return of the Ford GT

Anyone see this. It from January but you never know. I like the idea of the GT or maybe Ford Shelby Cobra Roadster Concept. Hope Ford gets back into the supercar market.

Would be nice if it could beat a ZR1 if and when they do make it.

At the time (2005) I think the Ford GT targeted Ferrari so I would assume that would be the target again. I would take a GT over the ZR1 because the ZR1 doesn't look exotic enough... besides, the GT is a lot sexier than the ZR1 anyways. Most people can't tell a difference between Z51 and a ZR1

If the GT supercar comes back, I want to see what engine they will equip this one with.
Right now, the new 5.0L Coyote looks like a great candidate; capable of well over 600 BHP at the crank with forced induction, direct injection, and the short block built up with true forged internals and lowered compression ratio for 20+ PSI boost manifold.

Or, if the coyote is truly based on the race-conceived Cammer 5.0L proven in racing, a 5.3L version of the Coyote. Afterall, even the 5.3L Cammer race engine was very capable of revving towards 7K RPMs.

If they bring it back they should slot in the 521 crate engine and then add some forced indiction so the italians and the bow tie fanboys can get blown away for sure

There's quite a bit of speculation, and people are talking about old concepts of the GT as being the direction (who really knows)... plus there's talk about it being a hybrid... rear wheels engine driven, front wheels optionally electric driven...
A few of the concepts gossiped about:
