The cobra's aren't coming out till 2007 but they will probally be released in 2006. And it is a roots type blower, not a twin screw, ford got rid of that idea.

I lost some respect for Ford after they decided to go with a roots blower vs. a screw.

What are the major differences between the roots and a screw type blower? What does the 03/04 Cobra have?

The 03-4 cobras have a roots blower. The difference in the two is the compressor/impellor design. Screw blowers tend to build less heat at higher rpm. Screw blowers tend to have a much fatter powerband and produce boost more efficiently. At this point in today's technology, the screw is absolutly killing the roots, performance wise. The only reason Ford is going with the roots unit is to save $. They originally said they were going to switch to a roots because of the avalibility of the Lysholm internals. I'm not buying it, after doing a little research. The price of the new GT500 seems to be going up monthly, and I think Ford realized they could save $ by going the roots method. I have lost some respect for Ford.

I would rather pay more for a better car. And trust me price will not stop any of these future owners.
