'The IROC-Z Corners Hard, Brakes Quickly, And Really Delivers The Mail'

There is a reason that those of us who were born in the 70s and grew up in the eighties had Italian cars instead of American hanging on our walls. I myself opted for the Ferrari Testarossa. While many of my friends went with the Countach. Can you imagine a Iroc hanging on the wall? And that TA has to give the Bandit nightmares.

My dad is an original owner of an '87 IROC-Z, Dark Red Metallic, 305, 5-spd (the car I learned to drive on), and I own a '12 5.0 . We still have the window sticker for the IROC-Z. His was about $16,000 with the options on his car. Now days $16,000 gets you a Fiesta/Focus.

LOL....I was born in the 70's and got my license in the 1986, I drooled over every car there was back then, had posters of Vette, Mustang, Capri, IROCS, T/A, Shelby Charger, Daytona & GLHS (all FWD), 80's GN, GTO, Hurst & 442 Olds and the Monte SS....ah, those were good days back then and remember all the 1960's and early 1970's cars were dirt cheap to buy back then, A $2000 Chevelle back then is now worth 15K to 20K+ these days...imagine spending 20K+ on those old cars today?? The driving experience was fun back then but, not worth 20K+ for that driving experience today!! The italian cars were problematic back then, always caught on fire or major reliability issues but, still dreamed of owning one of them!
I did see a Buick Regal in the Wal Mart parking lot with a for sale sign in the window the other day. About an 85 model. The guy had $4500 written on it. I almost hung around to ask him if it was a joke.
But I know where you're coming from. My first car was a dodge Daytona. And I loved it.
