The 2018 Ford Mustang May Not Have A V6 Option At All: Report

V6
Love my V6. I have a 2012 Yellow Blaze Metallic with the sport package. V6 gets 31 mpg (gas will not be this cheap forever) and a 310 HP engine (fast as I want to go) Think this is a great engine and in a Yellow Blaze near as I can find out very rare. Should bump up the collector value. Only 15,000 miles and garage kept. Complements my two 1966's well.

I am surprised. With a lot of performance cars going to turboed V6s it seems odd Ford will dump an already well proven and supported engine.
Considering they didn't' allow you to option the v6 at all, we should have all seen this coming. I am disappointing too as I would not buy a 4-cylinder; they don't excite like the V6 and V8, and any car that needs to pump sound through the speakers to make you feel better about your car is just a disgrace. And with the prices as high as it is for the GT, I won't be buying a mustang any time soon. No longer is the Mustang an affordable sports car new.

I see plenty of EBs going for under 22k. Not sure what else you can get in that price range that would be considered a "sports car". One thing about Ford, especially the mustangs is that the MSRP is generally at least $5k more than what they actually sell for. Just check cars.com or directly on dealership sites. If you can shop around and are not in a hurry you can get a great deal. I paid $32k out the door for my '14 GT/CS that had an MSRP of over $39k.
