I read the same thing, the Hybrid X-Over.All they say is that it is a performance electric
SUV for 2020 March. Nothing on it being a Mustang.

this is a conjectural (guess) sighting of the MACH 1 electric SUV......https://www.motor1.com/news/263952/f...-based-mach-1/

Maybe not. Sounds like somebody at Ford finally pulled their head out of their ***:
Ford Won’t Use ‘Mach 1’ Name on Electric Crossover

I entered 2020 Mustang Mach 1 and got a few strangely worded sites about the car being a SUV without the name and a "list" of several different models of mustangs. There was a picture of what someone thought might be a MACH 1 Mustang. Then I found some quotes that "THE NEW MUSTANG" might not be around until 2021.Seems like rumors run rampant and no one knows anything much.

I guess I'll have to eat some popcorn and wait.
I'm going to be ready to buy or order my new Mustang GT in November/December 2020. (son will be wrapping up college, other vehicles paid off, etc).
Somewhere in my late 30's I cooled my heals and learned how not to be a car ***** and flip them every couple years at the drop of a hat. I've been much more careful in planning and buying to cover my needs. Wife's been an SUV owner since....and I've always had the same 4x4 truck for daily driving, hunting, fishing, knocking around. Drove the last one 11 years....replaced it with a new one last October with the plans on keeping it for at least the next 10-15years. I miss my last Mustang badly, a '95 GT stick shift. It was traded for an SUV for the wife prior to our son's birth. I'll be scratching my wants itch in late '20 / early '21.
Looking forward to seeing what Ford does in the future....hoping the Mustang continues to be a car that really appeals to me....as every generation since my last one has. A MACH 1 would be really cool. One of my roommates in college has an insanely fast black '69 Mach 1. That was one of the few cars I've been in that scared the crap outa me. He & his father had really done some wild stuff under the hood with that beast. His father had a '71 that was fully restored, bone stock. Very sweet car.
I was driving to work Wednesday afternoon, taking the scenic route and enjoying the drive in. Gorgeous weather. Along the way I crossed paths with a new GT fastback, Shadow Black, dark tinted windows, high profile black spoiler, black wheels..............one of the sexiest modern muscle cars I've seen in person. Sounded awesome, too.
Two things came instantly to mind when I saw that black beauty Wednesday afternoon: 1) Damn, there goes a modern version of Vince's car (my college roommate) 2) If Batman drove a 'Stang.....this is THE one he'd have.
Mustang GT Premium (fastback or convertible), Bullitt, or GT350 have me drooling. A proper MACH 1 would jump onto that list quickly, too.
