SRT-4 vs. 2000 GT
The SRT-4 in the vid only had stage one, which really isnt any more mods than the gt had (pound for pound, or dollar for dollar).
04 SRT-4s can run 13.8s stock, because of a better drivetrain (something in the FWD setup). They are also easyer to make faster because you can simply turn up the boost. Low 13s are no problem.
If you know someone that dumped 15K into a SRT-4 and ran a 12.9 they are an idiot. Far less than that will net you 500 FWHP (front wheel HP).
SRT-4 are easy to get to a low 13, and then there is a pretty big jump in cost to get lower than 12s. However, the same can be said for our cars.
Also, most of the time the SRT-4 is at a disadvantage when racing from a stop. They are far better from a roll.

From what I saw at the track the SRT-4 is about an equal match for a 99+ GT stock for stock. Lightly modded GTs and SRT4s seemed about the same ETs also.
I guess i am just trying to say the SRT-4 is about equal to a 99+ GT in speed and price.

I think stage 1 is only like a new ecu or chip or something
stage 2 was the the computer and upgraded fuel system. I am not even sure if it ups the boost. My brother has stage 2 on his but I am not sure what it did besides the computer upgrade and the fuel injectors

Maybe I'll take the vids down. Damn, I thought you guys would enjoy watching a good race, I didn't know it would turn into a SRT4 bashing contest. I like reading these forums and have so much respect for you guys. But then someone calls all SRT owners **** and such. That's pretty messed up man. I mean, the mustang one the race, what more do you want?

Well first off a stroker kit does not give you much HP its ,more torque then anything and the blower is only a M90S so I was not looking for mad #'s off the bat with a flashed computer program and no tuning on it. The car baselined before any work stock was 215HP and 240 torque so picking up 112HP and 130ftlbs of Torque is not a bad pickup. And done on a mustang dyno there give and take on #s. seeing a stock cobra only dyno 360HP and 375 torque and I'm turning 327 and 370 I'm happy with it. With a good tuning and the smaller pullie would put the torque over 400 and HP would be 360 if not more or I could just shoot a 200 shot of NOS with the forged bottom end. I like the car streetable If I wanted to yea I can make the car nuts. Most of the guys that come on here talking alot of trash for no reason, I am sure there are a few other people out there that have 30K in parts into there cars like myself and not just the motar. Some of you guys JD and you 00GT00 like to bad mouth peoples car makes me think you guys don't have jack done and like to take alot of trash on people and there cars. Running a storker, heads ported, custom cams, cast valve covers, allen supercharger 9PSI kit, longtubes, UPR tubular K-member, UPR coilover kit front, 1800 stall, shiftkit, custom subframes, Pro UPR drag suspension kit rear end, ford 373s, nitto 555R out back, custom 4 point roll cage, race seats with 4 point harnes, custom 2 1/2 pipes highflow cats and turboflow mufflers to turn downs. And 00GT00 you my run same HP # but don't mean your going to run with a car that has better suspension setup. Most put all there money into the motar and can't hook any off the power that it makes you can sit there and be like WOW 500Hp and think get it on the road or track and find wow can't hook. I could have gone that way and wasted 30K on the motor alone and never see anything from it when it don't hook on the street or track, I'm sorry I like to think out my work and spread out my money to get a good base to work off and then add more from there if need be. And if I wanted to a 200 shot of NOS would put it at over 500HP and thats not adding more boost so for you 00GT00 to run on about my car is alittle stupid seeing that with just a NOS kit, I am very sure you would be looking at my tail lights. Just recall you made some comments and this is just a reply to your mouth running.
i think u guys are underestimating the srt-4. they are good, well-built little cars. if that dude in the video w/ the srt had a boost contoller the GT would have gotten smoked, but maybe he did and didnt have his boost turned up. a buddy of mine runs high 12's and thats with a pretty much stock srt-4. he was runnin 22 lbs. of boost.
