So he ran a 12 then? I think that's what he ran on full boost with no nitrous... Either way, whoopty do. It's doesn't matter seeing as how the Eclipse was just as fast, if not a wee bit faster.

you say chip and pulley swap its all over... well modify the ram with the same amount of cash also, and it'll still come out first.. its not really fair saying that a modified something will beat a stock something

I went to the track last night for wednesdays street night and there was a silver 04 lightning there, honestly it didnt seem very fast at all, it got beat by quite afew cars, i also saw a civic hatchback beat a 03 mustang GT in a race and a kenne bell cobra get romped by a LT1 style camaro, its all about the money you put into it
Not that I give a ****, but I just love proving you wrong.

Lets even forget the extreme cost of the SRT-10 vs the lightning. (Throw price of buying it out).

200 bucks (for an expensive one) for the pully
500 bucks (once again very expensive) for a tune or programmer

So ya got 700 bucks to modify the ram. The lightning is making, what, 80 more RWHP. Good luck.

Its the same argument about the 03 cobras. Its not that you can spend money on it and make it faster, its that you can spend 1500 bucks on it and make 470~ RWHP (up from an average 380 rwhp).

So you can ADD more RWHP than a large majority of 4cyl come with STOCK for 1500 dollars, and all of it can be done in your DRIVEWAY (pully, programmer, aftercat, xpipe) in about 3 hours.

The point is that its a FREAKING TRUCK. Its like driving a wall down the road. They are crusing along and go from a high roll? The import has EVERYTHING going for it, and once again, its a FREAKING TRUCK. It outwieghs the eclipse by what, 3 times over??

This is your arguement that 4cyl are as good or better to modify??

Seriously 2000si, I have a higher opinion of you than that, don't sit here and say that a 4cyl are as easy and as good a choice to modify as a 8cyl car.

I think ya need to do a price check on headers for a V10 Ram. My V8 headers ran just at 600 bucks. And good luck finding an intake for a V10 that isnt a custom setup (BUCKS).

So your pretty much left with what, nitrous? Please.

Not to mention that nothing you mentioned (or everything put together) will gain anywhere near 90 RWHP.

Who cares? Seriously?! That truck as it sat in that video was ABLE to run 10s, it has and can run TENS in the quarter mile.

How it's shaped has absolutely NOTHING to do with this, stop trying to make excuses for the truck. It got beat and everybody knows what the truck is capable of running, yet it still lost. What's your malfunction? Why are you not realizing that the shape and "it being a wall" has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that it was running on par and being slightly pulled by a four banger? Might I remind you that 90% of the people here think a four cylinder is inferior to ANYTHING with a V8?

The entire point that he was trying to make is that 4cyl are as good or better to modify as a v8, because this truck has all kinds of money in it and runs 10s AT THE STRIP. I am not doubting that the eclipse is fast in any right, but thats a pretty stupid example to use to "prove" his point. Its a FREAKING TRUCK. I would be embarrassed to have the kind of money the eclipse has dumped into it and just barely beat a truck that isn't running to full potential (not that my car could beat that truck, but I don't have a ton of cash in it either).

At some point or another in the back of your mind and joes too your both going to have to accept that it is cheaper and easyer to modify almost any V8 than a 4cyl, and all things being equal a V8 will provide the most power for a set price range. You can set any price that you want, and I guarentee you can make more power with a V8 than any 4cyl of your choice.

Im not saying that all 4cyl are slow, or that they are impossible to make fast. However, they are not going to run as fast and still be streetable, they are going to cost more money, and its going to be tougher to get them to go as fast.

Yes and what do your precious mustangs get in MPG? I know its not 28 mpg like some 4 cylinders out there, a Mazda Protege with a simple GTX 1.8 Liter Engine Swap, which you can find for a little over a grand ( stock engine, just swapped into the protege ) the car will run 13's on the stock motor swap.. now mod the bitch and there you go
