Does anyone else find it strange that he is almost dead even with the all stock SRT-4 but he pulls right away on the WRX??

I know the STI is much faster from a stop than a SRT-4, but I would think it would still be much faster from a roll as well???

hrm... well, I think the guy in the GTP was the one I raced while he was driving his girlfriends new Jetta GLI 1.8T.

I think I've seen that STi around, but that SRT4... well, those are everywhere. I was checking one out one day and he spun off the light for me. lol

Anyway, I don't recognize the road they were on... if it was day I might have.

Whered you get that from 72? I wanna go see if I can find them and chat them up.

2000: The STi will be weaker from a roll down low, He's nowhere near his powerband at 20 mph start unless he starts in first. Honestly, it didn't look like the guy in the STi was trying all that hard.

Actually, from a high roll, they're dead even.

A video was posted here not long ago of an SRT4 versus STi on a highway. They were dead even, with the STi ocasionally gaining a bit, when the camera man sat in the SRT. When the cameraman hopped into the STi, the SRT4 pulled away effortlessly.

The SRT4 actually dynos higher than the EVO VIII; don't know what STis dyno at.

I can't get on that board because I don't attend IPFW.

im about 2/3 of the way through it and it loks like he walked ALL over that fake saleen bad

how big of a difference would 4.10's have made, a half car at most? maybe a tad more?

nah i don't recognize anyone at all. I'm just trying to figure out whree those races could have taken place. My best guess would be down US 30 on the west side of Ft wayne or on the east of New Haven.

Guess they were tring to compare their engine power, not actual drag racing. They already knew that the STi would fly for the first 20 feet if you dump&slip the clutch at redline.
