Pretty sure a ls1 for 10k vs a 03-04 cobra for arround 25-30k or more ls1 wins better deal and ls1s react better to mods do to displacement. Either way cool video,
Please find me a 2-3 year old LS1 equipped car with less than 50K on the clock for 10 grand? Wait, you can't get one less than 3 years old.

My buddy just paid EIGHTEEN for a 00 firebird with 12K. And it was pretty much a deal, check out autotrader sometime. Just after that, I was quoted a 03 cobra for 24K. Lets see, 6 grand for a car 3 years newer, with the same miles, and undoubtably faster stock for stock. Also much cheaper and simpler to get into the 11s.....

Sure, you MIGHT be able to get a high milage 98 for that kind of price, but the car is EIGHT years old !!! If we can make this comparason, can we start comparing LS1s to Foxbodys dollar for dollar???

My friend just bought a 99 ls1 with 40k for 11k even. There is nothing wrong with it that wouldn’t be wrong with a 02 ls1 or with an 03 cobra. If you went with the extreme of 18k (most of what you asked for are about 15k) and the extreme low of 24k like you said (most are 30k or above) that still leaves the camEro 6k to put into the car or realistically 15k at least. If you put full exhaust cam intake and some other small things onto an ls1 you could easily do that for 6k and have a damn fine car. Sure the 03 cobra comes with 390 and a great engine to mod it’s just dollar for dollar not as good in my opinion. Because if you spent that 15k difference you could have the forged internals if you wanted, most likely a blower and plenty of other goodies that get you way past a stock cobra even with the cheep mods like a new blower pulley which just keeps getting the price farther and farther apart. With all this the 5.7 vs. 4.6 leaves no contest.
Comparing a 98 with even 75k and a fox body from 93 or earlier that guaranteed has 120k plus isn’t practical at all. Of coarse the fox body will win the dollar for dollar battle that’s why I post on here not ls1tech because I don’t have the money for an ls1 or defiantly for a new cobra I drive a teal pos sn95. I'm not starting a war. Astyl2002 just made a stupid comment. I should have just said no replacement for displacement and bypassed all this bull****.
