my 88 lx t-bird 302 v8
i have this car...it was sold to me by my life-known,neighbor...i'm now 30 (matured somewhat) and being only the second owner of this Thunderbird, as well as knowing the original owner quite well, assures me that this car is solid. I have owned it since 1996 and have babied it to tears...the frame is straight, no rust...i love the car! I have not ran the car 3 years.
I want to begin her rebirth, I am doing the interior and stereo myself, and was planning to have the A/C removed, new exhaust, new gears, new suspension, adjust the suspension, and get the suspension right, etc. then I was going to add some Wilwood? disc brakes all around cause the faster you go, the faster you have to stop and what I remember, the stock brakes are crap. Practically all -88 mustang parts will work...i'm told... ???
Can you give me an idea of what I would need to comfortably run this car. I am not really concerned with prices within reasonable doubt...so in other words ...what would I be looking at total to get a good 500+ hp out of this car if possible? BTW, any of you a mechanic? ANOTHER neighbor has a 429...please... comments please!!?

RE: my 88 lx t-bird 302 v8
buy a 331 or 347 engien and stick a supercharger on it would be the easiest way. the brakes, i would just go withh aftermarket. muscle mustangs and fast fords did a article on thunderbirds and some was running in the high 10's low 11's not bad for a bird. good luck send pics when done.
