Soon to convert...
Howdy gang. James here. I have been a Pony fan for years. Big (older) sister got a 92 GT back in the day. I am about to make it mine. Unfortunatly, I will only get to drive it for a month or two before it has to go ingo storage for 2 years. See, I am in the AIr Force and Uncle Sam has decided that I need to take a trip to Izmir Turkey. The good news is that I am selling my current family/race car. The Grand Prix has been a VERY fun car. It taught me alot about matching the right mods to get the best results. It also taught me the benifits of web forums. With my years of experience over at ClubGP, I was able to take a 4door family car and turn it into a 330whp beast that runs mid-12s.
Now its on to a new project. While I am out of the country, I will be reading as much as I can. I will also be gathering parts for the restoration my (soon to be) 92 GT will need. The ultimate goal is ~450whp and still get 20+ mpg. I know it can be done. I am thinking a strong 302 bottom end with some turbo'd air up top. Honestly, after learning what I have with the GP, I thing forced induction is the best way to go. You don't have to have a WILD motor sucking gas to make power. A little forced air goes a long way.
Anyhow.....hi.
