This is my 4th Mustang but the first one I've owned since 1977. Now I know why older guys always had the nice ones (I am now one of those older guys) I think this one will be staying around for a while. I just purchased a 66 coupe, Wimbledon white with black interior. It has the 289 4bbl with a C4 auto and factory A/C. It's in really good shape even compared to the ones I owned when they were only 8-12 years old. I just added a relay driven switched power terminal strip under the hood for any electrical accessories that need to be added down the road like the electric fuel pump I just installed. I also installed relays to feed switched battery power via 12 ga. wire to the headlamps using the original low/high feeds to trigger them. No more dim lighting up front. These relays currently get their power from the switched power terminal strip so I don't have headlamps unless the ignition switch is on. I'm not sure if I will keep that configuration or use unswitched/direct battery power to the relays. I am currently redressing the interior, rebuilding the heater box, and correcting some unprofessional wiring under the dash.
Does anyone know what causes the gas gauge to read 1/4 tank no matter how much gas is in the tank (reading does go down with key off)? I had heard that the constant voltage unit makes the gauges peak when it goes out.
