Saying that pushrod engines suck is just ignorant, the Viper, LS1, LS6, are you saying those engines suck?Get a grip and grow up, just because your car does not have a pushrod engine that does not mean that they suck!

A pushrod goes from the lifter to the rocker arm, which opens the valves.Overhead cammers eliminate pushrods, hope it helps.

Crackhead.

It's got less PARTS than an OHC set up, but more mass.

The reason OHC's tend to make more power than pushrods is there is less mass to turn, and in DOHC's, the head flows a LOT more air in and out.

I'd love to see you continue to say pushrods suck after seeing one make over 6000 horsepower.

Actually, it's a weekly event known as Top Fuel (NASCAR is pushrod, and a LOT of weekend warriors have pushrods.....as to the LT1, LS1, LS6.........)

A pushrod motor has a cam central inside the block, inbetween the V. There are sticks (pushrod) that go up parallel to the head and connect to little seesaws with the valve on the other end.

When the cam's lobe pushes the pushrod up, the see saw pushes the valve down.
