Default New Guy

Hello world,

I have been gone for many months out of the states, deployed. With the money that I have racked up I am getting a V6 Mustang, say what you want, but I am 20 with a horrible record. And I plan on building my Mustang up over time, and when I turn 25 I plan on doing an engine swap. But what are any suggestions, to make it look good, and sound good. Its going to be black with Silver stripes up the middle, but the rest I am looking for suggestions, I am a low person on the totem pole in the military, so we are on a shorter budget. Thanks for you help.

Welcome to the forums. Do the math..would a GT be out of the question? I mean since you are planning on doing engine upgrade and all....

Yea Gt is out of the question cause its an insurance hike, I can wait until i get older and my record clears a little bit and then do an engine swap. But until then I am want to work on the outside and do minor performance upgrades.

Have you actually checked with your insurence company to see how much a GT would run you? I assumed I couldn't afford insurence on a Mustang for a long time b/c everyone (including my idiot insurence agent) said don't even bother it will be ridiculously high. Then one day I called to get a quote just for the hell of it and found out it was actually cheaper then the vehicle I was driving at the time. You should at least take the time to check if you havn't already.

I have seven tickets that will clear in '08 and then I am not yet 21, they quoted me at about 230 compared to 150 a mth in insurance rates. Thats too much of a difference considering the difference it would be to buy a GT.
