Thought I'd start lookin around. I've got an 86 5.0 LX notchback thats been in storage for about 8 yrs. It hasn't been started in 4 yrs. It's got 45k original miles on it and is bone stock. It's on its 2nd front end so no need to keep it original.

Next year I'm putting up a new 4 car garage and the mustang will be my first project in it. I'm finally getting to where I can afford to have a car just for a toy. I just want a reliable, fast, good looking 86 notchback.
I'll be looking for direction on this project.
I'll probably pull the original engine and go with a 351 crate motor.

 

you're on the right track getting rid of the stock '86 engine, that's for sure as the pistons in it don't have any valve reliefs and the heads don't flow worth a damn either.
