Default New guy, sayin howdy :)

Howdy,
Here my new car

Just got er a few weeks ago, got her runnin, tagged and insured. Now have a question...
When I went to tag er, the two VIN numbers under the hood matched, but the number on the
driver side door didn't match them. I know sounds like someone put a new door on... but the
number was only off by one number. EX Hood VIN 2271 (last 4 digits) and the door VIN 2272
Do you all think it was a goof up from the factory cause I would imagine the odds of replacing
a door with a door with the very next VIN would slim and none. Just curious what your all's thoughts
are on this. Also anyone know the backspacing/lug pattern and max wheel/tire size you can put on a
67 with stock (unaltered) suspension.
Thanks, look forward to forumin' it up with ya all
Shaun

Welcome to the MustangForums Classic section. Now, go back and ask one question at a time. We are a bunch of old pharts on here with a few kids, so we speak slow English and take one project on at one time.

First off [sm=welcomesign.gif] to the forum.

Secondly, don’t sweat the door number as if you read it carefully, it's a warrantee number and not the VIN #. Granted 99.99% of the time they are the same but it is not the first time I have seen a difference.

Thanks for the info, I will be sure to let the people at the inspection office know that tidbit next time I'm over there
