Hello all, I came across this site last night about 11pm and finally went to bed around 3am. Great stuff here, and it looks like if I come across any problems modifying my mustang people will be willing to give a couple of words of advice.
Brief history about how I came across my car and rough details about what I plan to do to it...
Had/have (trying to sell) a 87 Nissan Sentra, but I wasn't satisfied with 70hp and 90 torque. So I have been looking at mustangs for quite a while. Almost bought one (88 blue 5.0) from one of my brother's friends, but he didn't want to sell it. I had been wanting a mustang almost since I got my first car (Sentra); kept looking everywhere I could to find one. Finally found one in Iowa, a red 93 5.0 GT. Supposedly on 53k miles and for the relatively low price of $4,000 (almost all the money I had saved up). The problem with this was that I lived in western Washington State (about 1800miles away). Talked to the guy and decided to buy, so I booked plane tickets, spent a few days at my uncle's (lives about 130 miles from where we were going to meet the guy) and played around (had some fun with his 93 RT/10 Viper (such a nice car)). Anyways, got the car (doesn't have heat, ac or some other stuff that needs to be fixed) and drove it back in about 2 days. Going through Montana was soooooo freaking cold, and this was in September, although it was 7am at the time. But we (my brother came with me) made it back, and now I have a sweet car.
The car isn't in perfect condition at all, a bit of rust in the back from the salt that gets laid down in the midwest during the winter, but its not too bad (I am working on stopping its spread). It came with a few mods (interceptor radiator stuff, dynomax muffles, and a cd player) all of which I wasn't expecting. I do plan to modify this car heavily, but I think over the course of me doing this, I might spend around 40k on the car, so being 17 years old, this is going to take a long time.
Anyways, I really hope to become a part of this community and add more than I subtract. I'll see if I can get some pics soon.
