Default First car

Hello. I just got my first car, which is a midnight blue '65 Mustang. It's got a newer 289 hp engine in it, and that's about all I know about it. That's why I joined the forums.

Anyway, I live in California. It embarasses me a little bit that I'm not even 15 and 1/2 yet, but my father got me a Mustang. It's awesome though, and I'm happy he got it for me. All that was wrong with it was the solenoid was bad, and he got the whole Mustang for $1000, so it was a sweet deal. It runs good, and I've driven it short distances. It's fun to drive. It's a little beat up, the paints coming off, the interior is torn up, but that's alright. We bought it so we could do some work on it, cause my dad used to build cars.

You guys seem like you know your stuff, so I'm hoping you can help me get to know my stuff.

I'll up load some pictures later today, I'm not at the house where my Mustang is.

I will when I get a chance to take some pictures! I alternate between my Mom's and Dad's house, and I'm going to my dad's house later today.

Pics:

Couldn't get great shot's of the car, my garage is small.

The awesome stock gauges and steering wheel.

And the interior, which I rather like.

What do you guys think. Yes it needs some work done, but it runs, and thats all that matters.

Thanks for the warm welcome. One question: is there any visible difference between a 64 and 1/2 and late 65?

We know it's one of the two, but we don't know which it is.

Yea, gotta get a work permit when I go back into traditional school next year. Then I'll get a job. Not gonna make my dad pay for the gas and stuff.

I don't know **** about working on cars. That's why I'm here. My father used to work on cars, but he doesn't know everything.

Once again, thanks for the warm welcome, and my question still stands.
