New '04 Mustang Owner
Hi, all. I joined the ranks of 'stangers on December 21, 2004. After years of admiring and lusting after Mustangs, the stars finally aligned and I purchased one this year.
Due to the exigencies of needing a small pickup for jobs around the house, raising two kids, working two jobs, living in the country and needing a 4x4 to get around at times, etc. my previous daily driver was a '91 Toyota 4x4 pickup. The 'yota now has over 180,000 miles on it, and is starting to get a little long in the tooth. After thinking long and hard, I was able to convince the Chief Financial Officer (I'm married to her) that buying an inexpensive car was a way to preserve the 'yota (which would be beaucoup expensive to replace) for use in bad weather, etc.
I did some shopping on the internet, and found exactly the Mustang I was looking for at a dealer about 30 miles away. It was a 2004 V6 5-speed, RedFire in color with a Dark Charcoal interior. The sticker was $19,505, and after rebates, et. al. I was finally able to purchase it for $13,800! I thought that was an EXCELLENT price.
So far, I've shimmed the throttle pedal to raise it up even withe brake pedal, and I have a FRAM "Sure Drain" oil drain valve to put in when I do the first oil change.
