I'm new here. Don't shoot, I'm currently a 2000 Corvette owner, but have owned a 68 mustang (390 4 Speed)"back when." My wife wants a new car, and while we've found the vette to be fun, it's beenreally impractical as we have 2 grandchildren (4, 2) that we like to take with us from time to time. I plan on buying a 2007 GT coupe. Test drove one last weekend, and now I know what all the fuss has been about. Very, very nice ride, and light years from the classic mustang in finish and handling (ok, power too). Looking forward to learning more about the modular engines and the new GT's pros and cons. Anybody looking for a very nice 2000 C5 Convertible? Jack

Welcome to the forums! I think that you will be pleasently surprised that not everyone here says they can beat a vette. I'm sure if you went to a Honda Civic site they would tell you they could beat a vette with a stocker! lol. I think you'll love the new stang.What color are you gettin?

 

Going for the metallic red, with a tan interior if one can be found, otherwise gray. Black while attractive, is just way too hot here in N. CA.

As I'm still more or less stock, I am still scared of Corvettes. You'll find people in here with a lot of common interests. It's a great board. One of these days I'll start driving my Mustang again, but it won't be for at least 15 months.
