Supercharger or turbocharger

Supercharger or turbocharger
Hey there. I have a bit of a problem in my hands.I'm not sure if i should get my 06 mustang a turbocharger or a supercharger. Ive done hours of search and frankly none of its helped. I know exactly how each work.Ok well here are my options, I can either get a Turbonetics Mustang GTl w/ CAT Turbo System witch makes 450hp at 8psi or get a Roush Stage 3 Supercharger Kit witch makes 425hp at 5psi. Price isnt a problem because theres only a 20$ difrence. I want my muntang to be as fast as possible and i want to improve my 1/4 mile time What should i do?

RE: Supercharger or turbocharger
Welcome to the forums, may I suggest asking the guys in the 05, 06, & 07 mustang subforum, they would probably give you more valid opinions that I will because I do not own a new mustang. I will say that I actually like turbos on V8s simply because people don't usually go that route, and when they do they make crazy power, not saying the supercharger doesn't its just that in some instances if you aren't racing a turbo can actually help fuel economy (from what I've read). Just my two cents.

RE: Supercharger or turbocharger
Im a new here myself. But From what i know from driving a 1979 930 turbo for 6 months and fully know the effect of turbo lag i would assume that asuper charger spools up faster than turbo "down low". Since you wanna inprove 1/4 mile time i waould think a supercharger might be better. I really pretty much dont know anything about supercharger but thats my two cents on turbos and what i think. But also think, your gonna be the one driving the car so which sounds better to you? Turbo ORSuperCharger

RE: Supercharger or turbocharger
The thing is you can eliminate most turbo lag through timing adjustments, and if you can get the turbo spooling before launch then it doesn't really matter, but you are correct on the assumption that a supercharger "spools up faster" because it is always there and does not rely on any external forces like a turbo does. It all boils down to how much money do you want to spend, and how much power you are really hoping to get.
I know when I've driven my dad's f-250 turbo diesel, there is massive lag from an idle, say at a light, but when you power brake it and get the rpms up enough to get the turbo spooling, that beast launches hard, I've killed a couple civics with it, and got destroyed by a (at the time unknowingly to me) z28. Either way you're going to be happy with the power.
