Well I did it, pick-up my Pony today !!
Greetings to all you Ford family members , and/or Mustang admirers. My name is Chris, and I am a new Pony owner. I have been looking at Mustangs the last four years, but couldn't quite swing the idea of one being my year round transportation. So, I bought Ford trucks instead in 2001 and 2003. This winter I was able to pick-up an older frontwheel drive full size car, and since it moves through the snow pretty well, I traded my 2003 F150 yesterday for a 2005 Redfire Prem. GT, 5 speed. I pick her up today. I am really excited about her. My first car was a 66 Galaxie 500, that I transplanted a 429 4bbl, out of a 69 T-Bird into. The car was fun, but not so great on gas. I am thrilled that the Mustangs of the last few years outstanding performance for the price, and 20+ mpg.
It has taken me about 2 months to get a decent deal here in Indinapolis. Some Dealers continue MSRP or even up $3500.00 above. I also couldn't get a decent price on my trade. That is until yesterday. I was able to finally get Kelly Blue Book for my truck, and $500.00 over invoice on the GT. Took quite awhile, and a change in the Dealership that I will patronize the next few years, but I am happy to finally be treated fair.
I plan to watch the Forums to see if there are any Mid-West get togethers. My son is not quite a teenager, and we would like to do a couple of travel and visit Mustang club road trips.
Did I say I was excited.....Oh Yeah !!
Already named her "Lil Red". Tonight, break in drives, around I465 (circles Indy).

Thanks for the best wishes. I am stoked. Lil Red is being prepped at this minute, and I should pick her up yet today. I will try my luck at posting a pic, soon. It has been crazy here in Indy trying to get a decent deal on these. I would have considered an 04 SVT, but didn't seem to find one (granted, I looked more at the 05 Vette). I am pleased that a Ford dealer finally agreed to go supplier on a 5 sp GT. I had two Chevy dealers quote supplier on the 05 C6 vette. I just couldn't see the extra $$ above the Mustang. Of course I wasn't willing to pay retail or $3500 over MSRP. The worse "deal" was with the same dealer I bought my 03 F150 SC 4X4 Lariat. They wan't the $3500 + $7000 less for my trade than I closed on. What is up with these dealers..... I didn't let them rob me, but they sure tried.
Thanks again for the kind replies !! I need to go eject a few CD's and clean-out the storage compartment on the truck... bye...bye.... lol
